What's Cooking in the World? The Bare Bones of my Belief

There’s been a find in South Africa that has some geologists celebrating evidence of a monkey becoming a man, or, to put it simply proof for the evolution theory.
Some scientists are sceptical of the find and others are hopeful.

In some ways it’s like finding God; many would say an invisible God is like believing in Tinkerbelle. Others have no doubt that God is scattered all over this earth and beyond.

It is an interesting story that brings up a lot of questions about how we really ended up as the top notch species on this planet. But for me this finding has no effect on my faith in God.

It’s not because I’d rather tune out all facts that disprove the bible. It’s simply because I know God exists without a doubt. There have been too many instances that reveal his presence to me, my family and friends.

Like a geologist, I scrape away the dirt to find God under almost every aspect of my life. At times I’m so distracted by everything else to really dig and so I find myself just scratching upon the surface of life.

Then there are times when God is so mind numbingly obvious I can’t ignore him, just like the boy who stumbled upon the bones of this recent find.
He wasn’t searching, just playing with his dog.

There was once a time in my life that I was freaking out about my future and the uncertainty of my career. But, "bam" - in an instant I stumbled upon a person who provided me with a job in my exact profession. Many would say a massive coincidence but there have been too many strange situations to blow them off as anything but the plans of a powerful God.

I can’t do a science experiment to prove that Jesus is real, which makes the choice to believe in God more courageous than not believing in him.

My knowing comes from my relationship with Jesus in the quiet times, the sad, the stressful and the happy times. He is in my life everyday and, unlike a pile of bones, Jesus is also in my future.
